JWA has been publishing scientific articles on community services for Indonesian society since 1994 by Research Centre and Community Engagement Service of Andalas University, Padang. The journal was started with the printed version, with registered number ISSN 0856-655X (print), followed by ISSN 2797-1600 (online) the serial number currently used by this journal.
