Abstract

The nature tourism development is often confronted with a dilemma between economic exploitation and environmental preservation. This study aims to formulate and evaluate the "Integrating Concept of CD, CBET, and Sustainability" as an environmentally conscious tourism management strategy rooted in local wisdom. The approach employed is Participatory Action Research (PAR), implemented through a three-stage intervention of training and mentoring (FGDs and workshops) for the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) and MSE actors at Wisata Alam Tapian Tabiang Barasok. This initiative also integrates cross-border knowledge spillover through an academic collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia. The results demonstrate that the bottom-up governance approach successfully confirm to enhances the management literacy and human resource capacity of Pokdarwis. This is evidenced by the formulation of vision-mission documents, organizational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and an approximate 20% increase in the community's economic potential. The findings  suggest a potential relationship wherein CD serves as the driving instrument for CBET, acts as a core process catalyst to achieve the macro goals of Sustainability.
